    About

Born Jerry Jerome Brown Jr. on October 20, 1987 in Saint Louis, MO to Stacey M. Jackson and Jerry Jerome Brown Sr. he lived life before physical conception. Raised by his mother Stacey, Jerry and his youngest sibling, Jeremiah, grew up in the in the inner city of Saint Louis, where impoverishment permeates just about every neighborhood. Jerry soared a midst the tumultuous elements that existed throughout the inner city, which was no easy feat. Jerry’s unrelenting persistence derives from the many unsavory obstacles he didn’t allow to impede his developmental process. Jerry chose not to associate himself with the overly rambunctious adolescent packs of misguided youth, the stick up kids, or the street “pharmacists” that would’ve led him down the wrong path. It was Stacey’s awareness and desire to provide her children with a higher quality of life that led him and his brother onto the football field at an early age.
Jerry’s ambition and work ethic set him apart from the rest—he was a man among boys when he stepped foot on the football field. Jerry improved both mentally and physically on and off the field which became the catalyst that drove him to reach for the NFL. At 6’6” and one of the most humble giants you would ever see, Jerry had dreams of not only making it to the NFL but of giving back to the community. Jerry Jerome Brown Jr. passed away at the young and delicate age of 25 years old. Before his passing he was able to make one of his two dreams come true; he made it to the NFL. To carry on his legacy, Stacey chose to make his dream of giving back to the community a reality. It was only right after his passing the foundation be created and named, The Jerry Jerome Brown Jr. – Spark the Leadership Foundation.
